Although you could try to set up your own website right away, this is an immediate and expensive overhead compared to the free hosting offered by some big online marketplaces. By all means, start your own site once you have found your feet but, to start with, it is definitely wise to make use of the experience and reputation of a respected ecommerce website.

Although selling books online is easy work, you do need to be savvy to outdo the competition; perhaps sell to a niche market, maybe specialise in local writers or even write your own e-books! You don’t have to do anything alternative to find your market, but you will need to make sure you stand out from the other vendors.
