Price Reduction on Black Friday

We all know Black Friday is the time when good deals are on and you can buy the same consumer product at a much lower price than you would normally during the year, but what people don’t know is that products are discounted in different ways. In this post I will try and explain in short what types of price reduction technologies online shops will use to attract you, the customer:

- Normal price reductions: practically the price of a give product is lower during a limited time frame. You order it during that time frame, you pay less for it

- Discount coupons: if you get your hands on a coupon (basically is a alphanumerical code) and use it during checkout it’s yours for less, sometimes way lower price

- Mail-in rebates: you pay the regular price for the product and than complete a form that you mail to the shop you bought the product from, wait a few days or weeks and you get a check back in an envelope which you can use later to buy other merchandise

- Points: you get them when you buy stuff, the more expensive more points you get. You can use later those points to buy products from the same shop at a lower rate

- buy one get one free: this is a volume discount, get more items from the same merchandise and you get the second/third/etc item at a lower price.
